reflecting on catalyst.
and the fire it put inside me.
and the dreams it helped me realize I have.
just finished the book Love Does by Bob Goff.
whom we heard at catalyst.
I was bawling when I finished it. wanting to move in a place that does. to realize dreams. to follow those with reckless abandon. to not always have a perfect "plan". but to do. to follow god.
I was reading back in my journal from catalyst, and I have a page that says "what is my dream?"
this is what I wrote.
my dream is that I can see broken people & broken lives restored. brought back. redeemed. created & made new again. that the god of all people & all things will redeem and restore. and that we can be a part of that process. that Stephen & I can come alongside and love and live, not just live but to be alive. to not fear - but to live and live big.
sorta goes with why I got my tat (story here)
hope restored.
dreams realized.
I want my love to not just BE but to DO.
anyway, catalyst was amazing.
this is what catalyst is all about (from their website)
it was so jam packed with amazing speakers & messages that I just had to tell you some of the amazing one liners from the speakers. You need to go for yourself to experienced it. it really can't be explained - just lived.
here are a few things I don't want to forget.
Andy Stanley - "do for one what you wish you could do for everyone"
Nancy Duarte - "ideas are the most valuable thing we have. saying I have an idea is saying I want to change the world"
Craig Grochell - "everything we do now for the glory of God is because someone invested in us" and "respect is earned, honor is given"
Jon Acuff - "haters always get loud when you do something that matters", "fame is the biggest drug in christianity"
Brenda Salter McNiel - "God is always working" "do what the father is doing"
David Platt - "leadership in the kingdom is overflow of love from the king"
Bob Goff- "when we're scared were not who God made us to be", "when we're not afraid - stuff happens!", "we leak Jesus on people & we're not afraid anymore"
Marcus Buckingham - "your authenticity is the best of leadership", "take what is unique and make it useful"
Dave Gibbons & Charles Jenkins - "listen to people. listen to God. see people through God", "don't just live in your city, be alive in your city"
Erwin McMannis - "God created us, so we are creative beings at our core", "all art is the expression of the self"
Donald Miller - referring to the disciples..."it's not what they knew, but who they knew", "we were designed to connect with God AND others"
so there you have it. you should go.

Catalyst is a powerful gathering
of young leaders, a movement of influencers and world changers who love Jesus, see things differently, and feel a burden for our generation. We seek to learn, worship, and create together with a momentous energy passionately pursuing God. We are Catalysts... Kingdom ambassadors, change agents, influencers, and cultural architects seeking to change churches, communities, and cultures for good.it was so jam packed with amazing speakers & messages that I just had to tell you some of the amazing one liners from the speakers.
