sending.

sending.

after I wrote my “itching to go” post, god immediately drew my mind to all of the other opportunities he’s put in my path as we’ve spent more time at home.  it’s not just about being a “goer”.  not all of us are goers.  while I would like all the time to be a goer, right now god has us in a season of sending.  and sending is just as important as going!  if no one sends you, how will you go?  So many people have displayed this to me as I have been sent, and it’s an honor to be in this position.

what being a sender looks like::
sponsor a child
support a missionary
get involved with mission team at your church
live with eyes wide open to see needs in your daily routine
pray for a country/missionary/people group
help people fundraise to go on long or short term mission trips
give up water to raise money for a water well

buy fair trade.  be a smart shopper.

and honestly, if you don’t know where to even start with that...email me.  I know some missionaries that need support, some children who need sponsors, and a lot of people in need of prayer!
we can all do something.  we must not sit around & do nothing because we can’t do it all.  every little bit counts.  and God is teaching me that.  to be humble, to be quiet, to be faithful in the little things.  who knows?  he could be preparing us for future ministry.  we just must be faithful.  and right now, it’s in sending.
resources::
I’ve started a pinterest board called “support it” where I’ll try to post fun things I find that people are selling to raise support for their adoption or mission trip.
you can always shop Noonday, it's smart shopping (handmade items by artisans all over the world that get a fair living wage for their work!) and supports our adoption!

check out Give1Save1 every Sunday & see how you can give even just $1 to help an adoptive family

I also have a link on the top of my blog under "PRAY.GIVE.GO" that lists out a lot of resources!
if you are local:
we are having a garage sale March 24th to support my good friend Alison that is moving to Rwanda & our other good friend Lacey who is going to visit Alison in Rwanda this summer.  You can donate items, come help set up, help us sell or just come by!
stonegate fellowship is rolling out the 2012 short term trip opportunities again in the foyer on Sunday.  come stop by & check out the trips we have including trips to Africa, Fiji, Turkey, New York & Romania.

  1. We are big senders. It took me a long time to realize that I didn't have to go to make a difference. I love that we are able to send. If God changes our heart and wants us to go someday, we'll happily oblige.
