wow. what a birthday I had.
{my actual birth day, april 20 1984!}
I am still processing it all, but man do my friends & family know how to make me feel loved!
I spent tonight re reading all my facebook posts, messages, emails, cards, voicemails - since we were in california I didn't get a chance to respond to anyone, so it's been a fun night.
feel like my birthday all over again!
so thought I'd do a quick recap.
birthday started a week early at our annual april birthday fest
shannon, julie & I
fun girls dinner on the patio at venezias!
then before our California trip (which WAS my birthday gift)
i came home from speaking at baylor to a wonderful and unexpected surprise!
stephen had spent the whole day getting a early surprise bday ready!!
complete with birthday banner, his traditional wipe board sign that he always makes when I get back from being out of town (this has become one of my favorite traditions), flowers, a card (another tradition - he puts all of my nick names on the front...), and he MADE a cake. my favorite cake. yellow with choc icing that says "HB W" happy birthday wynne! he rememered that last year I was sad I didn't have birthday cake (what's a birthday without a cake!) and so he took the time to MAKE me one.
friends, my husband loves me well.
i don't deserve him.
i love that man oh so much!
he even got the dogs into it.
my sweet eli in his birthday hat!!
BESIDES all the amazingness that he did in the kitchen, he also....
put together the crib!!!!!!!!!!
how cute is he?!
THEN.
on my actual birthday in California,
he woke me up with chick fila chicken minis & coffee.
and we spent another great day at catalyst (more to come!)
we got to meet Bob Goff.
seriously, follow him on twitter.
we got to worship.
and hear from amazing speakers.
and eat a very yummy lunch from a food truck in the warm sunning california sun
when we got back from catalyst, I had these beautiful flowers waiting for me in the room by my africa sister of a friend, Amanda. who also happened to write the sweetest blog post!!
then we were off to birthday dinner at Cafe Sol in Newport Beach!
I wish we had a picture of us or the cute quaint restaurant by the pier. complete with a guy in the corner strumming his guitar. we had really good food. really good wine. and really amazing conversation.
my birthday day was by far the best day of the whole trip.
more on the trip & catalyst next but just wanted to THANK everyone so much for loving me so well.
and for celebrating another year of life that the Lord has given me!!!!
may 28 be the best year yet!!!!
Happy (belated) birthday! Love your blog! Excited for you to have that crib up!
