2nd annual NKC Memorial Day

You might remember a post last year when we went to Fredricksbug last Memorial Day weekend as our first trip as a group. Well this year was no different, we still went on a fun trip together only this time there was a baby :) I know, the no kids club really should be called the new kids club, but I guess it can't be kids until there is more than 1 :) We headed to Horseshoe Bay on Friday and the rest of the gang met us either Friday night or Saturday. Stephen & I loaded up at HEB and got everything de-winterized and ready to go! My parents place @ the lake is my favorite place in the whole world. then to share it with some of my favorite people was incredible! Stephen & I had dinner at our favorite - Tall Texan Friday night & had a little date night before the gang showed up.

One of my new favorite things to do at the lake is drink coffee & read on the porch in the morning. This trip was no different - lots of coffee, reading, yummy breakfast & reading. I loved it! We took a long boat ride Saturday, played in the water, went to the sand bar, snacked and then when everyone was there we went on a sunset cruise! Enjoy the pics....
After the cruise was the crawfish boil! yeah for Curtis putting this on - it was so good & so much fun! about an hour after dinner the girls were inside watching my wedding video (precious Stephen put it on!) and we hear the guys cheering outside - well they did it, they ate 4 pounds of crawfish! the girls stayed up playing "would you rather" off these cards and I am seriously laughing out loud thinking about it. it was to the point of delirious crying we were laughing so hard - one of them was "would you rather hold your thumb and finger in the OK position for life or say thank you before every sentence" and we thought it was HILARIOUS to hold our finger like that AND say thank you before anything. it actually was quite addicting saying thank you so much. makes you feel thankful!

Sunday morning was no different- breakfast (waffles!) coffee fellowship - then we played in the water for quite some time. Grayson even got in! It was so fun to watch my sweet friend Alli but such a good momma! She was loving it & so were we. The boys even made up a game....go figure. Frisbee on the jet ski - I think Curtis was the first to dive off of his jet ski to catch the Frisbee. pretty humorous. Then it was time to make the famous BOB dip from Matt's el Rancho & watch the bears play the Aggie's in the big 12 baseball championship. it did not end how I would have liked but was fun to watch! brings back the memories! After that a group of us went on a boat cruise & found some fellow Midland-ers at the sand bar. so fun! Later that night Stephen & I went to Fredricksburg to hear my good friend since childhood play! More about that on the next post....
The gang grilled out while we were gone & we made it back for the end of a "this or that" game {baylor girls - I have taught them well!} and then guys went out for "cigars & stars" and girls just hung out. Monday morning I slept in, Curtis made amazing breakfast burritos, everyone had an interesting convo with a guy next door about the Bible. I love our friends! so encouraging and solid in their faith. i am constantly encouraged!

Most of the group left & then some left to hang out outside and just chat and then Stephen & I put the rest of the toys up and headed home. BUT we got to stop through San Angelo & see Rose swim in the pool for the first time! I loved it! Martha, Nana, Grandad, Karen, Sheryl & Walter were all there - I loved it! Great fun to swim with my niece!
more to come.....
