dear camp.

sunday night I couldn't sleep.  back from an amazing weekend with friends + too much coffee had me up until 6am.....I was up late thinking about my boy.  and was encouraged by friends this weekend to begin writing letters to our children....so here goes!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
dear Camp.

It's 4 am and you were on my mind.  I had to get out of bed and write down what I was thinking about, so you'd always know.  always know how much we love you, how deeply we care about you and how desperately we pray for you.  This past weekend we spent time with our good friends, and we thought of you and talked about you a lot.  We can't wait for you to join our little crew.  We can't wait to be with you all the time.  Your dad was talking about how he can't wait to take you to Lake City & throw rocks with you into the river.  We talked about your big debut at Baylor Homecoming & I have to admit I was looking at the TOMS website today for you some sweet kicks.  We talked about you a lot with Will & Ansley this weekend.  What it's going to be like when you get home.  How they (and our other friends) can support our family.  Camp, you have NO IDEA how many people are invested in your story and in your life.  There are so many people that are praying for you right now.  Praying, like me, that you would be held and loved and cared for.  Praying for your caretakers at the orphanage, praying for your development, praying for you to grow.  It's really hard to believe that you are growing up & we aren't getting to see it.  I looked at baby Kunkel's sweet onsies this weekend and just almost couldn't bear the thought that you are wearing those right now & I'll never get to see it.  Will you come home quickly?  So many people are praying sweet boy.  My mom came in town last week & we picked out everything for your bed.  I go in your room often, it's my prayer/quiet time room.  I love to sit in there and pray for you & all the other orphans around the world.  I love to imagine what life is going to be like when you occupy that room.  Soon enough, sweet boy, soon enough.

we love you.
we pray that you know that, that you feel it.
more than that, we pray you know & believe the love God has for you.
the love that surpasses all understanding.
may He be right there with you & may you feel it.
may you feel Him.  and His presence.

love
mom
